Moises Martinez, known as Moi, is a London-based lighting designer from Catalonia, Spain. He holds a BSc with Honours in Lighting Design and Technology from the University of South Wales
His introduction to the industry came through working as a magician in theatres, where early exposure to performance and illusion shaped his approach to lighting design. His work is characterised by a strong use of shadow and contrast, and by an understanding of a show as a journey, where lighting elements are gradually revealed as the performance unfolds and light is used as a strong narrative tool.
He has designed lighting for stages and venues around the world, supporting established artists across a wide range of live environments. His practice focuses on strengthening the relationship between artist, space, and audience.
Constantly exploring new technologies, Moi is driven to expand the creative possibilities of live production and to redefine how light shapes the experience of a show.
